WHAT
WE DO
PROGRAMS & PROJECTS.
Teach-to-Heal delivers practical health education and community support through long-term partnerships with local schools and communities. Our work focuses on building skills, improving learning environments, and supporting wellbeing in sustainable, community-led ways and always works with the aim of empowerment and not reliance.
Wound Care Education & Personal Kits
We deliver practical wound care education through structured but relaxed sessions, teaching participants how to clean and dress wounds safely, prevent infection, and recognise when professional care is needed. After completing the programme, ( 4 classes, woundcare, sepsis&infection, CPR and Heimlich) each participant receives their own wound care kit and booklet to use at home, enabling them to care for themselves and support others in their family and community with confidence.
Infection, Sepsis & Vital Signs Training
Alongside wound care, we teach how to recognise infection and early signs of sepsis, as well as how to monitor basic vital signs such as heart rate and blood pressure. While individuals are not expected to own equipment, we provide shared monitoring tools to organisations such as schools and community spaces, ensuring these life-saving skills can be put into practice where they are most needed which avoids costly fees from trips to the clinic and ensures individuals get seen timely as they know when they need medical help rather than waiting to avoid fees and getting worse.
Emergency Response: CPR, Recovery Position & Choking
Our emergency response sessions cover CPR, the recovery position, and choking response in a clear, accessible way. These classes are open to both children and adults and are designed to build confidence in responding to emergencies calmly and effectively. Participants receive certification on completion, reinforcing their role as capable first responders within their community.
Learning Environments: Fans, Furniture & Resources
A safe learning environment is essential. Through our partnership with local schools, we have been able to provide ceiling fans, chairs, textbooks, toys, and learning materials—transforming classrooms that were previously extremely hot and under-resourced. These improvements have had a noticeable impact on comfort, concentration, and pride within the school community.
Community Support: Toys, Meals & Education Access
Beyond education, we use funds to support children’s wider well-being. This includes providing toys and games, sharing meals with children in the community, buying individual needs-based gifts (for example, new shoes or a bag if necessary) and—where possible—supporting access to education through school fee assistance. So far, we have been able to fund one child’s school and extracurricular fees, as well as all of his textbooks, which his family was struggling with, and we aim to expand this support sustainably in the future.
Building a Dedicated Classroom & Nursery
We are helping fund the completion of a long-awaited classroom and nursery at our partner school in Humpat. Due to limited infrastructure, multiple age groups are currently taught together in overcrowded classrooms. The structure for this building has been in progress for nearly nine years, but limited funding has slowed completion. Supporting this project will reduce overcrowding and create a safe, comfortable learning space for younger children.
